Sniper Americano (filme)

Indicado ao Oscar de melhor filme e também de melhor ator (Bradley Cooper) e melhor roteiro adaptado, por mim leva nessa última categoria apenas. Não que o filme seja ruim, pelo contrário, ele é ótimo, claustrofóbico, agoniante e angustiante. Bradley está ótimo, mas ainda acho que Benedict Cumberbatch (O Jogo da Imitação) merece por sua interpretação do perturbado Alan Turing.

Kyle (Cooper) é um cowboy do Texas que decide tardiamente alistar-se na marinha. Rapidamente, se torna um SEAL (grupamento de elite) e é convocado para lutar no Iraque, como atirador. Antes de sua primeira viagem para a guerra, casa-se com Sarah (Sienna Miller) e ela enfrenta a maior parte de sua gravidez sozinha nos USA. Entre idas e vindas para o Oriente Médio, Kyle vai se tornando cada vez mais fechado, ausente e temeroso quando em casa. Mas no campo de guerra, é o melhor atirador e começa a ser conhecido por todos como “a lenda”. O filme é baseado em fatos reais, e Clint Eastwood mostra mais uma vez que tem muita habilidade na direção.

Acho a temática de guerra já excessivamente explorada mas parece que os americanos por excesso de patriotismo – e bitolação – não conseguem viver sem exaltar seus heróis e vitórias (até mesmo quando elas não existem). Enfim, essa pode ser até a  motivação para as indicações e possível vitória do filme. Mas não tem minha torcida.

Por conta do excesso de violência, também não recomendo o filme para quem tem aversão a isso. Fiquem com o Jogo da Imitação ou A Teoria de tudo, filmes também biográficos, mas muito mais palatáveis.

Nominated for the Academy Awards for motion picture, actor (Bradley Cooper) and adapted screenplay, it deserves only  this latter category only. I’m not saying that the movie is bad, on the contrary, it's great, claustrophobic, agonising and distressing. Bradley is great, but I still think that Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation game) deserves for her portrayal of the disturbed Alan Turing.

Kyle (Cooper) is a Texas cowboy who decides to join the Navy. Quickly becomes a SEAL (elite group) and is summoned to fight in Iraq, as a sniper. Before his first trip to the war, he married Sarah (Sienna Miller) and she faces most of her pregnancy alone in the USA. Between round trips to the Middle East, Kyle will become increasingly closed, absent and fearful when at home. But on the battlefield, h is the best shooter and known by all as "the legend". The movie is based on real events, and Clint Eastwood shows once again that has great skill in directing.

I think the theme of war excessively exploited but it seems that Americans moved by excessive patriotism – and stupidity – can't live without exalting their heroes and victories (even when it is not true). Anyway, this could be the motivation for indications and possible victory in the film. But I don't have my fans.

Due to the excess of violence, I don't recommend the film for anyone who has an aversion to it. Watch “the imitation game” or “the theory of everything”, also biographical films, but far more palatable.
