Enfim, vale a pena conferir.

Finally I got to watch the movie whose trailer made me believe that it would be the favorite in the Oscar race. But it didn't quite work out that way. I think of the 5 statuettes that it is indicated for, it shall only take one. And my bet is for best actor for Eddie Redmayne that interprets the physicist Stephen Hawking. I also think Felicity Jones is very much like Jane, wife of the physicist, but I don't know if she wins because there are on the run also Julianne Moore with his Alice and Rosamund Pike who took the film Exemplary Girl on her back.
The film portrays the life of Stephen Hawking since when he first meets Jane at the University until the release of his book "A brief history of time", shortly after his divorce. The screenplay is based on the book written by Jane, so the vision presented is much closer to her than him, and that must have been the cause of Felicity to be nominated for best actress. The period depicted in the history shows the beginning of degenerative physical and the courage of Jane in still marry him, when doctors give an expectation of only two years of life to the young man. However, the forecasts don't confirm (Hawking's alive until today, over 70 years) and the coexistence of the couple is shaken up by the arrival of Jonathan (Charlie Cox) who helps Jane in homework assignments, taking care of 3 kids and Stephen himself. The collapse happens when Elaine (Maxine Peake) is hired to be Hawking's Assistant.
Good movie, that maybe can take the Oscar, but it's not the best in the race, in my opinion. They could have showed a little bit more of the scientific life of Hawking post separation, but I understand that it was not the intention, because it would lose a little of the emotional charge of Jane (and the film was based on his book).
Anyway, worth checking out.
