Refletindo sobre a ação "terrorista"

Esse caso de ontem do atentado ao jornal francês, me faz refletir profundamente sobre alguns temas, que discorro a seguir. Não quero, por meio desse texto diminuir a gravidade do que ocorreu ou dizer que os que o praticaram estão certos, mas muito me assusta que seja uma unanimidade todos estarem chocados com os “coitados” mortos pelo terrorismo do Islã.

1. Por que tacharam o crime de terrorismo?

Já vimos diversos casos de loucos que atacaram escolas, universidades e escritórios e mataram mais gente do que nessa ação. O mesmo vale para chacinas aqui no Brasil. Em nenhum desses casos a ação foi classificada de “terrorismo”. Mas, nesse caso, foi logo tachado de ação terrorista, apenas por se tratar de radicais muçulmanos. Entendo isso como uma atitude preconceituosa e que piora ainda mais a situação de milhões de muçulmanos que sofrem diariamente preconceito por causa de seu credo.

2. Quem patrocinou  o crime?

As ações terroristas sempre têm um grupo que a patrocina, planeja e assume a responsabilidade. Até agora ainda não vi nenhum grupo radical assumindo a responsabilidade por esse ato. Quantas pessoas estão realmente por trás dessa ação? Será que não foi apenas um pequeno grupo de loucos que teve essa atitude irracional por estarem revoltados pelas charges publicadas? Antes de culpar toda uma população de muçulmanos, seria melhor apurar o que realmente aconteceu. Sabemos que a Europa está sofrendo com desemprego e crise social em geral. Isso fez crescer  conflitos com os turcos, africanos, migrantes do leste europeu e muçulmanos em geral que escolheram países como França e Alemanha para residirem, fugindo de guerras, fome e outros problemas em sua terra natal. Há problemas para acomodar todo esse povo, dar educação, saúde e assistência social. Isso tem agravado a xenofobia e criado diversos conflitos contra os “não-nativos”. Um ataque como esse fomenta ainda mais essa rixa e me faz perguntar: será que foi mesmo provocado por aqueles que procuram refúgio e apoio? Eu assisto muitos filmes de espionagem, de guerras diplomáticas e traições internacionais. Será que não existe a mínima possibilidade de haver uma manipulação por parte de radicais xenófobos para um ataque desses de forma a culpar quem não tem culpa e aumentar o conflito, incitando o ódio contra os “estrangeiros” por toda uma população? Assim, ações governamentais para “proteger” seu povo e expulsar os indesejados imigrantes seriam mais facilmente aprovadas e apoiadas. Não sei, mas também não descarto essa hipótese.

3. Por que tantas reações de ódio?

Fiquei assustado com comentários nas notícias (e olha que só li comentários em noticias nos sites brasileiros, então imagine de quem vive na Europa, na zona de conflito). Muita gente sugerindo que se deve seguir a lei de Talião (“olho por olho, dente por dente”). Meu Deus! Que horror, então quem mata deve morrer? Quem mata um assassino – ou o condena à morte – é tão assassino quanto ele. Um erro não justifica outro, um crime não justifica outro. Matar não resolve nada. Eles mataram os jornalistas porque se sentiram ofendidos, aplicaram a lei de Talião. E, agora, o que o povo clama é exatamente o mesmo contra eles. Mais uma vez, cada um pensa apenas no seu umbigo e não olha para os outros com os mesmos olhos que olha para si. Por essa mentalidade de vingança (isso é vingança e não justiça, me desculpe) é que estamos onde estamos. Um crime puxando o outro, e a humanidade descendo escada abaixo na sua evolução ao contrário. Em vez de abrimos os olhos, cada vez os fechamos mais. Triste, muito triste. Há menos de 100 anos atrás o ataque foi contra os judeus, e tenho medo de que esse pensamento odioso nos leve a outro genocídio, dessa vez contra os muçulmanos.

4. Cadê o respeito?

Não estou defendendo o crime, de jeito algum, mas cadê o respeito dos jornalistas com o profeta Maomé? Não podemos confundir liberdade de expressão com falta de respeito.  Defendo a liberdade e acho que realmente cada um deve ter o direito de se expressar como bem entende, mas quem possui mais influência, quem é formador de opinião deve tomar mais cuidado. O que é dito para milhares de pessoas muitas vezes é repetido tanto que vira verdade. Falar enquanto individuo é uma coisa, falar como órgão de imprensa, como formador de opinião exige mais cuidado. Mexer com símbolos sagrados dos outros não é piada, não é engraçado, e ainda pode criar imagens deturpadas da verdade alheia. Veja aqui mesmo no Brasil a quantidade de piada que se faz contra a Umbanda, Candomblé e outras religiões. É muita falta de respeito. E acaba criando um grande preconceito, que se desenvolve em ataques a terreiros, incêndios criminosos. Em vez de disseminar o conhecimento sobre as diferenças, formadores de opinião exaltam de forma jocosa apenas alguns aspectos negativos, criando uma visão deturpada e preconceituosa. Em vez de ensinar a respeitar, escarneiam.

Enfim, acho que foi realmente um absurdo o que aconteceu, mas acho que essas manifestações todas que se vê, lê e ouve por aí são também exageradas e tendenciosas. Podem desencadear muito mais ódio a um povo do que ajudar na evolução de cada um de nós.

This case of yesterday's attack to the French newspaper, makes me think deeply about some issues, which I talk about next. I don't want to, through this text, lessen the severity of what happened or say those who practiced are certain, but I get really scared about a unanimous all being shocked by the "poor people" killed by terrorism from Islam.

1. Why is the crime called terrorism?

We've seen several cases of madmen who attacked schools, universities and offices and killed more people than in this action. The same goes for swathes here in Brazil. In none of these cases the action was classified as "terrorism". But, in this case, it was soon labeled terrorist action, just because the men involved were radical Muslims. I understand that as a prejudiced attitude and worsening even more the situation of millions of Muslims who suffer daily prejudice because of their creed.

2. Who sponsored the crime?

The terrorist actions always have a group that sponsors, plans and takes responsibility. So far I haven't seen any radical group claiming responsibility for this act. How many people are really behind that action? Couldn’t this be just a small group of madmen who had this irrational attitude for being outraged by the cartoons published? Before blaming an entire population of Muslims, it would be better to establish what really happened. We know that Europe is suffering from unemployment and social crisis in general. It did grow conflicts with the Turks, Africans, Eastern European migrants and Muslims in general who chose countries like France and Germany to reside, fleeing from wars, famines and other problems in their homeland. There are problems to accommodate all these people: education, health and social assistance. This has aggravated xenophobia and created many conflicts against the "non-natives". An attack like this encourages even more this feud and makes me wonder: was it even provoked by those who seek refuge and support? I watch a lot of movies of espionage, of diplomatic wars and international betrayals. I wonder if there is the slightest possibility of a radical xenophobic manipulation by for an attack of these in order to blame those who have no guilt and increase conflict, inciting hatred against the "foreigners" for an entire population? Thus, governmental actions to "protect" his people and expel the unwanted immigrants would be more easily adopted and supported. I don't know, but don't discard that hypothesis.

3. Why do so many reactions of hatred?

I was frightened by comments on the news (and I've only read comments on Brazilian sites, then imagine who lives in Europe, closer to the conflict zone). A lot of people suggesting they should follow the law of retaliation ("eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth"). Oh my god! Ho horrible, shall whoever kills die too? Who kills a murderer – or condemns him to death – is as much a killer as he is. A mistake doesn't justify another, one crime does not justify another. Killing doesn't solve anything. They killed because were offended by journalists, applied the law of retaliation. And, now, what the people cries out is exactly the same against them. Once again, each one thinks only in your own business and do not look for others with the same eyes that look at themselves. By this mentality of revenge (this is vengeance and not justice, sorry) is that we are where we are. A crime pulling each other, and humanity descending stairs on its reverse evolution. Rather than opening our eyes, every time we close it more and more. Sad, very sad. Less than 100 years ago the attack was against the Jews, and I'm afraid that this hateful thought leads to another genocide, this time against the Muslims.

4. Where's the respect?

I'm not defending the crime, no way, but where's the respect of journalists with the Prophet Muhammad? We can't confuse freedom of speech with lack of respect. I defend freedom and I really think everyone should have the right to express themselves freely, but who has more influence over the news should be more careful. What is said to thousands of people is often repeated so much that becomes true. Talking while an individual is something, talk as press organ requires to be more careful. To mess with sacred symbols of others is no joke, not funny, and can still create misleading images of of others’ truth. See here in Brazil the amount of fun there is against Umbanda, Candomblé and other religions. It's very disrespectful. And ends up creating a great prejudice, that develops attacks and people setting fire on the temples. Instead of disseminating knowledge about the differences, people exalt only a few negative aspects, creating a twisted and prejudiced vision. Instead of teaching respect, they laugh about the differences.

Anyway, I think it was really absurd what happened, but I think these demonstrations all that we see, read and hear out there are also exaggerated and biased. It may trigger more hatred of a people than helping in the evolution of each one of us.
