Outro tipo de filme que adoro é filme de terror. E quando envolve criança então melhor ainda. Mas esse aqui não é dos melhores, embora seja bom sim! Não é o tipo de terror que dá muitos sustos, mas a história é bem impressionante.

As meninas Victoria (Megan Charpentier) e Lilly (Isabelle Nélisse) eram bem novinhas quando o pai se envolveu num acidente de carro e fugiu com elas pela floresta, indo parar numa cabana, onde ele foi morto por uma entidade. Cinco anos depois, as meninas são encontradas na mesma cabana, vivendo praticamente como dois bichos, sem saber se comunicar direito e falando o tempo todo de uma "Mama" que cuidara delas. O tio Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) e sua mulher Annabel (Jessica  Chastain) são escolhidos pelo psicólogo Dr. Dreyfuss (Daniel Kash) para serem os tutores das meninas em sua nova casa. Acontece que as meninas não estão sozinhas, "Mama" as acompanha ao novo lar e tem ciúmes dos novos pais adotivos das meninas.

Entre aparições fantasmagóricas e estudos do Dr. Dreyfuss, Descobrimos que Mama é um fantasma que sofreu no passado e precisa se libertar. O filme vai muito bem até a última cena, que é muito surreal ainda mais com o desfecho escolhido pelas irmãs. Gosto quando o final surpreende e sempre peço por finais assim, mas confesso que fiquei entristecido.

Another kind of movie I love are horror movies. And when it involves children so much better. But this one isn't one  the best, although it is very good! It's not the kind of horror that scares, but the story is pretty impressive.

Young girls Victoria (Megan Charpentier) and Lilly (Isabelle Nélisse) were quite young when their father got involved in a car accident and fled with them through the woods, going to stop in a hut, where he was killed by an Entity. Five years later, the girls are found in the same house, living almost like two animals, without knowing to communicate right and talking all the time of "Mama" that was taking care of them. Their uncle Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his wife Annabel (Jessica Chastain) are chosen by psychologist Dr. Dreyfuss (Daniel Kash) to be the guardians of the girls on their new home. It turns out that the girls are not alone, Mama accompanies they to the new home and is jealous of the new adoptive parents.

Among ghostly apparitions and Dr. Dreyfuss, studies, we find out that "Mama" is a ghost that has suffered in the past and needs to break free. The movie goes very well until the last scene, which is very surreal even more with the outcome chosen by the sisters. I do enjoy when the final scene surprises and I always ask for surprising ends, but I confess that I was saddened by this one.
